About Andy

DJ Andy Mac

Andy is from Tyneside and is a personality-led party and nightclub DJ. He thrives on entertaining the crowd and has been DJing for over 20 years. Andy has presented large roadshow-style stage shows and has also worked in community radio. He currently works at Blue Monkey Nightclub in Harrogate and is the match night DJ for Whitley Warriors ice hockey team.

Andy is also a film extra or supporting artist. This started when he appeared in a scene with the late Sammy Johnson in an episode of the BBC's "Spender" (1993). Andy most recently appeared in an advert for Bundaberg rum (2007) which was screened in Australia; the trailer for "Shortfellas" (2008), a bank heist movie with an unexpected cast; and "Place Of Execution", recently screened on ITV1.

Previous residencies

Andy has worked for Luminar Leisure/3D Entertainments' Chicago Rock Café brand at various locations throughout the north of England including long spells at Middlesbrough, Chester le Street, Lincoln, Hartlepool and Barnsley, and shorter spells at Oldham, Bolton, Rochdale, Warrington and Lancaster. Other residencies over the last ten years include: Carringtons Nightclub, Harrogate; Huxter's Bar, Middlesbrough; Bar Zanz, Alnwick; The Banque, Morpeth; Prague, Whitley Bay; Hairy Lemon, Whitley Bay; Sylvester's nightclub, Whitley Bay.

Stuff

When Andy isn't entertaining the crowd, you can usually find him at home in Middlesbrough eating something that generally isn't healthy. Andy is married to the lovely Julie and is a fan of Whitley Warriors, Newcastle United and Shaun the Sheep.
